Mr. Johnson lives in East Boston, MA with his wife Crystal and son Leif (pronounced “life”) where he fellowships with Followers of the Way. He currently serves as the President of Sattler College in Boston. He holds a Master in Public Policy concentrating in International and Global Affairs from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor's degree from the United States Air Force Academy in Management. He also has a graduate certificate in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University. Mr. Johnson worked for the Air Force as a congressional analyst before receiving an honorable discharge as a conscientious objector. He also spent time in Mozambique working in development and disaster relief.
Mr. Johnson was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador and has a passion for Christianity and the international realm. His interests include models of world change, the church as kingdom/nation, peacemaking, travel, and languages. He developed an allegiance to the historic Christian faith while studying the Bible through Greek, studying historic Christianity, and finding a faithful church community. His graduate study research focused on developing recommendations for the Secretary of the Air Force’s Office of International Affairs on partner collaboration platforms where he received a certificate in Management, Leadership, and Decision-Making from the Kennedy School. During his undergraduate studies, he also minored in Portuguese and spent time studying in Portugal.
